This activity is designed for intermediate-low English language learners. It provides opportunities for learners to practice how to shop using English. The activity covers what students have learned in previous lessons, for example, items' names, phrases such as “How much is this?”, and the knowledge of American dollars. 

​This lesson plan focuses on speaking skills. It is designed for intermediate-low English language learners in Japan. The main objective of this lesson for the students is to be able to explain their own culture in their second language, English.

This study using semi-structured interview data, conducted in Spring 2020, investigated change of willingness to communicate (WTC) in Japanese college students before and after study abroad in Hawaii.
